Testosterone replacement

Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) is a medically supervised treatment designed to restore optimal testosterone levels in men experiencing low T. At Stonewood Health, we take a comprehensive, evidence-based approach -- starting with thorough lab testing and a detailed health assessment, then creating a Protocols set from your labs that addresses your unique hormonal profile. Low testosterone affects energy, mood, muscle mass, sexual function, cognitive clarity, and overall quality of life. Our TRT programs are designed to safely restore your levels and help you feel like yourself again.

What it helps with

Improved libido, erectile function and sexual satisfaction -- the best-evidenced benefits

Greater muscle mass and strength over 6 to 12 months

Reduced fat mass, especially around the midsection

Improved bone density

Improved insulin sensitivity and glycaemic control

Many men also report better energy, mood and motivation, though trial evidence here is weaker than the marketing suggests

What happens

01

Comprehensive initial consultation and symptom assessment

02

Two morning testosterone draws on separate days, plus a full panel (free T, SHBG, estradiol, LH, FSH, thyroid, metabolic markers, CBC, PSA where age-appropriate)

03

Reversible causes addressed first -- sleep apnoea, weight, medications, alcohol, opioids

04

Review of results and a written treatment plan, only if the diagnosis holds up

05

Begin treatment with your chosen delivery method (injections, creams, or pellets)

06

Follow-up labs at 6 to 8 weeks, then hematocrit and PSA at 3 to 6 months and annually after that

07

Ongoing management with quarterly check-ins

Who it is for

TRT is for men who have both symptoms of low testosterone and low levels confirmed on two separate morning blood draws. A single low reading is not enough -- roughly 30 percent of first low results come back normal on a repeat.

Men with low testosterone confirmed on two separate morning blood draws, plus symptoms

Men whose fatigue, low libido or mood changes have been worked up and not explained by something else

Men with unexplained muscle loss, rising body fat, or reduced bone density

Men with erectile dysfunction alongside genuinely low hormone levels

Men who have addressed sleep, weight and medications and still have symptoms and low labs

Questions

Common symptoms include low libido, erectile dysfunction, fatigue, brain fog, mood changes, decreased muscle mass, increased body fat, poor sleep, and reduced motivation. Worth knowing: these symptoms are not specific to testosterone. Thyroid disease, iron deficiency, sleep apnoea and depression produce the same picture, which is why we test for those too rather than reaching straight for a prescription.
